The Perfect Party Dresses Trunk Show : Meet the Host

image

Kathleen (face behind @FlippedFashion) also adds : “I have an awesome style board on Pinterest here : http://www.pinterest.com/katiehectik/style/

"I love anything 90’s inspired grunge, punk, mod, vintage. I love collared shirts and dresses. I like having a darker edge to all of my outfits, but I always make sure to look modest and sophisticated."

Kathleen also has a pretty amazing tumblr as well, showcasing all things “Threadflip” and for SUPER CHEAP! Tremendous finds that are even as cheap as $3! Pretty crazy, right? We couldn’t be more excited to have Kathleen hosting her very own show!

Your heart will drop…

In a team meeting a few weeks ago, Leslie, Emily, Jennie, Anika and some others said, “You know what would be great - if I got notified when a seller drops the price of an item I have loved.” And so we decided to build this little nugget of a feature.

Sellers: want your buyers to come back and check your item out? Consider dropping the price, and people who have loved that item will be emailed to come check it out. And, your items will be featured on the new “Sale” tab that is prominently displayed on the site. Learn more about how you can do this here: “How do I modify an existing listing?”

Buyers: act fast when you receive these price drop emails! These items will sell fast.

So go on, and love some items! You could get lucky and score a deal on the item :)

Earth Day, Threadflip Style

Here at TF HQ we have lots of love for our girl Mother Nature! In anticipation of Earth Day tomorrow, here are a few ways to lead a more stylishly sustainable life:

- Shop pre-loved threads. There are so many vintage and contemporary gems just waiting to be discovered!

- Know where your clothes come from. Was the manufacturing process eco-friendly?

- Upcycle! Tailor or DIY pieces that have potential but don’t get any wear in their current state. Check out our friend Brit’s blog for some fun ideas.

- Buy for quality. Disposing of less threads = less trash piling up in our landfills.

- And of course, donate or flip items that no longer fit you to give them a chance in another closet!

Are you a conscious consumer? We’d love to hear your tips and tricks!

Stay tuned! More fabulous closets and sellers coming soon :)

We Flip For: Allie Bashuk of Scoutmob

We’re of the mind that style is great medium for expressing our unique sensibilities and personality. Every once in a while we stumble across a lady, and with just one look, we can tell she embraces that ethos from head to cool-shoed-toe.

Our style inspiration this week comes straight from the ATL - meet Allie Bashuk of Scoutmob! When she’s not roving about town or scouring the internets for the next covetable thing to feature on the pages of Shoppe, you’ll find her experiencing the city’s “stellar creative scene” donned in her signature style of high top sneakers, tights, and a dress with a peter pan collar.

We siddled down with Allie to comb through her closet and talk fashion:

TF: Describe your personal style.
AB: Eclectic, girly, and most importantly, comfortable!
TF:  If you could time travel Delorean style, whose wardrobe would you want to snatch up?
AB: My grandma Pepper. Never got to know the broad, but according to her hand-me-downs and photos - she was super fly in the ‘50s.
TF: What’s one piece that always travel with you?
AB: I don’t leave my house without my charm necklace. It contains all of my super powers.

Allie often procures delightful pieces from independent designers at Need Supply Co., and quirky homegoods at The Future Perfect. She’s also a fan of San Francisco’s Mod Cloth just down the street from us!

When it comes to brick-and-mortar spots, Allie always goes local giving us the down low on Georgia’s best: “Athens, my college hometown has some super stellar vintage spots: Agora, Community, and Dynamite Clothing. In Atlanta, I like Last Chance Thrift Store, Rag-O-RamaClothing Warehouse, Young Blood Gallery & Boutique.” And her tried-and-true place for finding “the very best trinkets” on the cheap? Indie craft fairs, naturally.

How’s that for holiday shopping inspiration? Until next time, flip you later!

TF Goes Golden: SF’s Golden Collective Vintage Pop-Up Sale

This past Friday, Threadflip sponsored Golden Collective’s bi-monthly Vintage Pop-Up Shop at Asterisk Magazine in San Francisco. Seven Bay Area vintage sellers joined us in the super cool gallery space for a night of bubbly and great buys hosted by our very own Rachel Combs of Mousevox Vintage. They brought the sweet vintage threads, we brought the champagne and sugary treats and a great time was had by all!

Highlights of the night: Dancing to 70’s glam rock DJ’ed by Raton of Duet Vintage, TF intern Carrie purchasing her first-ever vintage piece - an amazing rabbit fur coat, and Rachel making the first sale of the night with a gorgeous brocade coat.

A big thank you to our lovely sellers AnnaliseTerra, RatonLeanneCelisseAshley, and of course Rachel, for making the sale such a fun and successful event!

For more photos from the Pop-Up Shop check out our Facebook page!

Alright sweet and stylin’ Threadflip girls, the rumors are true - our TF Flash Sale is coming back for a second round this Sunday! So clear your schedules and set three alarms — the sale begins at 12pm PST and ends promptly at 4pm. Come join us! After all, no one wants to be the girl crying, “Coulda, shoulda, Chanel,” am I right?
